Seven Falls

One of many sets of stairs at Seven Falls in Colorado Springs. I managed to make it up this set to get to a platform to view the waterfall. But I was struggling with the height and had to take the elevator back down.

I couldn't actually go to the edge of the platform. The tingling up my legs made me almost paralized.

The Broadmoor

We just came home from staying at the Broadmoor a few days. Matt's firm had a conference there. It was so beautiful.

Garden of the Gods

We recently drove down to the Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs with Matt's parents. Here are a few pics from the day trip.

2nd sonogram

I'm not going to post the second sonogram because it is worse than the first!! I can't make anything out. The official opinion of the doctor is that I am 9 weeks. The due date is June 7. It was neat to see how much the little one has grown...

I'm still getting through some nagging morning sickness. Which is a cruel name since it lasts all day. I even lost a pound from my last visit to this one. I'm sure that will be the only time, but it shows how lousy I feel these days. I'm hoping it magically disappears by the 12Th week like I keep being told.

I have to say besides feeling terrible all the time it is still a pretty exciting time. It seems like forever since I found out I was pregnant. Everyone says it will fly by but time has stood still. Maybe once I start showing it will go faster.

1st sonogram!

I know it's hard to make anything out. But here's the first picture of our little one . The little bubble is the yolk sack - the baby is to the right of it. We could see the little heart beat - it was so neat. There is a little confusion as to how far along I am. The size of the baby says I am 7 weeks - but my guess at my last period puts me at 8 weeks. The Dr. wants to take another measurement in 2 weeks to get a better idea. So the tentative due date is May 30.

Austin

I just spent 4 days with family and friends in Austin. We celebrated 10 years since we started our friendship at culinary school. It was also Todd's birthday! It was so wonderful to see everyone!!

Golden Gallup

The group here participated in the 10k/5k last weekend. The ones with red numbers ran the 10 k and the two of us with black numbers did the 5k. Matt came and cheered us all on. It was so nice to see him (and everyone else) at the finish line. It took place in Golden and the scenery was so pretty.

Goodbye Hogan

We lost Hogan this week. He went out and never came home. We miss him so much.

Before and After

I recently bought a light fixture at Costco for a great price, but after I got it home we figured out our ceiling is so tall (15 feet) that our ladder leaning against the wall would be pretty tricky for the installation. So we had to rent scaffolding to install it. We actually joked that the scaffolding was cheaper than our copay at the emergency room and to just suck it up and do it right!



Thanks to Cory for coming over and helping - I'm useless for these sorts of projects and can only offer to feed anyone who is willing to help :)

Below is a picture of the light we replaced. I think it is original to the house that was built in 1986! It put out as much light as a candle.
