Spring is here....for now :)

Marcus enjoyed the swing in the back yard today. You can see he takes it pretty seriously. He's holding on to those ropes so tight!
This robe is so cute. It's almost too small. I kept it on him a little longer the other night just to get some miles out of it before it's too tight.

Marcus in the snow

We played next door with Kaitlyn today. She and Matt made a snow man and Marcus played around in the snow. Every part of this outfit is too big(except the hat)! The shoes kept coming off - but they'll fit great next winter.

Snow

We got about 11 inches last night. It's wet and heavy. The tree branches are bending over to the ground. It's a normal spring storm - nothing too serious. Says the person that hasn't had to drive in it :)
I put Marcus in this bib snow suit. To go out for pics.He was pretty interested in the snow coming down. He put his hand out to try to touch it.
Matt made a path so they could get a pic, then he cleared the rest of the driveway.
You can see the tree brances touching the ground. Matt got them cleared off pretty quickly.

Marcus is cruising all over this house. His crawling is FAST! And if there is a stick of furniture near him he's using it to help him walk.He loves taking the lids off these cylinders.
One thing I learned this week is that now that he has mastered going up the stairs he is using the same technique to climb up other objects. He made it on to this stool the other day. He also uses his toys to boost him up onto the coffee table!

Fun at the Park

It was so beautiful yesterday we went to the park by our house. This was the first opportunity I had to get him in this swing. He loved it!! I can't believe he's actually big enough to be in it!!
Swinging a hanger around. I know really safe....but he enjoys doing it. I guess he'll like it until he whacks himself, right?
He's cutting 2 more teeth on the bottom. That makes 8! He's a little grumpy but I don't blame him.

Marcus got this train from our friends. We are so lucky to have hand me downs from generous friends! He likes to push it around - but he especially likes to tip it over and climb over it!! I have some video but unfortunately I am having trouble getting it loaded. I'm hoping to get it resolved soon.

Play date at the mall. There is a dino park for kids. He had fun!

This morning's smiles :)

This is Marcus beaming after making it all the way up the stairs by himself....while chasing the cat. I'm having trouble loading video so as soon as I can I'll get the video of that event on here. I've been working with him on the stairs for about a month. Just showing him what to do. We have so many stairs I want to be proactive on that front. The day he learned how to take the stairs (last Friday) was also the day he fell down two of them. I caught him before he tumbled, but it was still pretty traumatic for both of us. Now the gates are up when we're not in stair mode.
By the way he's 9 months old this week and that's a 12-18 month jumper. It's a little loose on him but so much easier to get on his long body. He still fits in some of his 9-12 stuff. We went to our friends house for dinner this weekend. They have two friendly cats and Marcus was in heaven. You can see the black kitty was too - in the clear box by Matt's feet. The three of them played legos. Our friends, Kirsten and Jen sent us home with the three soft FANTASTIC blankets stacked to the right. There's even one for Tubby!! They are the best comfy blankets - and now we don't have to fight over the other one they made for Marcus :)
Pulling up. He's getting really good at pulling up and then sitting down and then pulling up etc.... His speed has picked up on the crawling too!! I think we'll see him walking before 12 mo.
He's had this toy for a few months. But now that he can stand and play with it he has started to enjoy it.
This cube bookcase is so great to hold his toys and books. He bumps his head on it a lot though. He's now pulling up on it so I'll have to secure it to the wall. It's cheap and wobbly so it would come down on him pretty easily.
