Trip to Dallas
My mom got to have lots of snuggle time with Marcus. It was so nice to go home for the week. They had just recovered from a snow storm that brought 12 inches!! Dallas is not equipped to handle that. When I arrived there were just patches of snow remaining. Marcus had a ball with all the new things to play with. All new territory to play in.

Waking up Squealing
Marcus generally always wakes up happy. I took the camera in with me the other day to get him after his afternoon nap. He's showing off his new skills :)
Pics from the week
Marcus is pretty much crawling everywhere. He's getting faster and faster!! I'm hoping I can use that to get some energy out of him during the day so that hopefully he will sleep better at night.
This week I made some red lintels for him to try. He seems to like them - I mixed them with sweet potatoes and rice cereal. I tried hiding some cauliflower in with the sweet potatoes and he could still taste it. It was a bust. At least I have one small food victory this week.
We're heading to Dallas next week to see Grams (my mom). I'm looking forward to seeing my family!!

He is pulling up on everything. Including the side of the tub. He slipped a couple days ago and gave himself a tiny fat lip, there was even a small drop of blood on my shirt. Not the last time my little boy will bleed on me I'm sure! So now bath time is less fun for him because I'm constantly keeping him off the side of the tub.

Pulling Up
Marcus started pulling up on the crib rails when the Burk Grandparents were still here. He started by pulling on the bumper pad and that would get him up enough to reach the rail.

Now he's just going right for the rail. Matt moved the mattress down one peg last night and this is how he looked getting up from his nap today. Matt's going to move it down another peg tonight.

Green Beans, No Way!
Last night I revisited green beans. Marcus still says NO! Each time I put the spoon in his mouth he bit it so hard I couldn't get it back out. He has 6 teeth now - when he bites something it really means something. When dinner time starts going wrong and I know we're not going to make any progress I just get the camera and enjoy the hilarity that comes. This is the way dinner went last night. Then straight to the bath tub.

He's looking at his dad to his left. Who I think was laughing so hard that it caught his attention.
8 Months Old!
Marcus will be 8 months old tomorrow!! He's doing so much it's really amazing. He's starting to crawl. It started as rocking on his hands and knees that evolved into scooting backwards. Now he's pretty much crawling forward. He can go a few feet at a time.
In this pic he's helping me load the dishwasher :)

Family Pictures
We just finished a nice 2 week visit with the Burk Grandparents. It was long over due. We haven't seen them since Marcus was 6 weeks old. They enjoyed getting to play with Marcus and I got some free time to clean the house and run errands. We also got some much needed household projects done thanks to their help!!
Miss you Grandma and Grandpa Burk!! It was so great to have you here! Thank you for everything :) Happy 43rd Anniversary.

MMMMM Bananas
Marcus is starting to get the hang of eating pieces of banana. It's hard for him to get something so small and slippery into his mouth. There are many more misses than hits! Sorry for the buggers - he is a teething mess and I can't keep up with them. He's pretty good at dodging and ducking the tissue.
