Time with Aunt Amy
Aunt Amy came for a visit over the holiday weekend. It was so nice to see her. She wasn't here 10 minutes and Marcus was snuggled up in her lap. He loved getting to play with her this week.
Marcus and Amy playing with blocks in the back yard. Marcus has only one
goal with these blocks - the higher the better! Then they are more fun to knock down!
Soccer time!
The tongue is always wagging! We are trying to get
him to run without sticking his tongue out. Not working so far :)
Pool fun!
This pool is amazing! Amy gave it to Marcus last summer. But this is the first time we've been able to play in it. Well, around it, it was so cold that we didn't get in it too much.
Ahhhh the Ipad. What a wonderful creation. Marcus had it figured out pretty quick. Amy had some fun stuff loaded on it for him to enjoy. Grover has a pretty cool interactive book for Ipad. It was a hit.

Sunflower Farm
Marcus and I had a fun morning at Sunflower Farm. It has many fun things for little ones to play on. This rope ladder led him up to a pretty fun slide. I think this was his favorite area.
This horse swing was his least favorite.
Too bad, I thought it was kinda cute.
Oh the chickens, there were soooo many chickens.
The hay stacks
One of two very old dogs. They both just layed around and let kids pet them.
This was a silo they made into a sand box.
One of four tractors.
This swing was hanging from a very tall tree. There was a real opportunity to swing very high. But, I didn't push that hard. Let's have some time to get over one injury before moving on to the next one.
Bye bye Sunflower Farm. See you again soon.

A Spring Time Splurge
I don't usually spend much time playing in the dirt - but I had a blast planting these two beautiful pots. The first is my lovely herb garden which has been put to good use.
The pot out front has my favorite plants, portulaca, which I love mainly because I can't kill them. They will spread to fill the pot and bloom with little pretty flowers.
5th Anniversary
Matt and I celebrated 5 years last week. This was his wonderful gift to me. A James Avery ring that I've had my eye on for many years. I love you, Matt. Happy Anniversary.
The Cast is OFF!!!!!!!!!!
YAY! It's so wonderful to have his arm back! He can take real baths again, no more sink baths for him. It's not quite right yet, but in time he'll have his range of motion back and some strength again.
The scars
1 incision and 3 holes from pins

Getting the pins out
A week ago we got the pins out of Marcus' elbow. He did a great job. When they took the cast off the vibration tickled his arm. He sat still for the Dr to take the pins out. He cried a little but recovered well. Then was distracted by the process of putting the new cast on. The third and possibly final cast. We will find out next week when we return to Children's.
This toy was the best one I've seen in a hospital room. Unfortunately in his short 2 years we've seen our share. Children's Hospital is geared for kids which helps.
He got up in the chair all by himself, and one handed!
These are the pins. I didn't take pictures while they were still in his arm.
They made me cringe when I looked at them. So, this is the best I can do.
